Old Charles pinning 👀

ooh well this was something i started writing last summer (to be perfectly honest almost everything in my WIPs is from last summer jjjshsh) I was trying to imagine how it would feel for old Charles to look back on his life and legacy once everything is almost over. It occurred to me that maybe he would be fearful of not having done enough, and seeing his death near, there's nothing else he can do.

From this (terribly uplifting) premise i wanted to write a snippet where Charles, after he starts losing control over his powers (à la Logan), retires to a little house, isolated, so that he can't reach or hurt people. But naturally Erik learns about this and decides to visit him. Charles is very melancholic because seeing his old friend like this reminds him of what could've been but never was. Then Erik mentions the charles' school and charles has a breakdown and asks erik 'was it enough?'

But let me tell you after some bitter moments, the story ends on a soft note and erik stays by charles' side (you know, they deserve a soft epilogue ;))

There's very little written in this document (rip to me) and it's basically just the outline. this is the only excerpt I could find:

"Oh, I'm afraid I won't make a good rival anymore," he laughed, weakly.
