I just want y’all to know that Clark Kent could absolutely be living like a comfortable bitch with his salary.
Let’s talk numbers for a sec. In Superman 2025, his apartment? That’s not some crusty shoebox studio. It’s got tall windows, wide space, and an almost luxury vibe. You know that rent isn’t cheap. From a quick search, journalists can make anywhere up to ~$131,114 yearly if they’re senior/top-level. Mid-level averages around $50–60k.
Now, Clark isn’t just some random reporter grinding obits. He’s out here snagging front-page exclusives with Superman (lol, wonder how he managed that). That alone is Pulitzer-bait, and Perry White is not about to let his star reporter walk to the competition. Raises? Bonuses? Oh, he’s getting them.
So let’s math this out.
Say Clark’s making a reasonable ~$70k/year (he could be at six figures, but let’s lowball).
His apartment runs maybe ~$3k/month, so ~$36k/year.
That leaves ~$34k, or about $2.8k/month after rent.
So his disposable income is fat. Clark Kent is 100% a provider. He has the money to spoil his partner rotten, and you better believe he’s looking for excuses. Flowers just because. Paying for dinner without batting an eye. Dropping cash on weekend trips. Getting that one expensive thing you only mentioned once in passing. He’s the definition of, “No, honey, I’ve got it.”
And that’s not even if we bump him to the higher bracket (which is honestly more realistic, considering his portfolio). If we say Perry’s paying him closer to $90–100k? He’s clearing extra comfort money. Clark Kent could be buying you matching furniture sets instead of mismatched Craigslist chairs.
So yeah, the girl math is girl mathing. Clark Kent has the salary, the apartment, the bonuses, the no-expenses lifestyle… and the biggest golden retriever provider energy in DC.
Do with this knowledge what you wish. And if you turn this into something, please send it my way. I need to read Clark Kent spoiling the hell out of his love. <33
I made this for a little DIY side project I’ve been working on, teaser under the cut, the whole thing will be posted with the shitty “blueprint” when completed so ill have something nicer to show you…
