I think something that would make Simon fall for you or at the very least make it easier for him to trust you is seeing your integrity firsthand. Applies to these three AUs @fanfichubcircuit @oddballwriter @randomfandomworks

When you are kind even when you don’t need to be, when you have every right to make the selfish decision but you don’t, when you choose to help when you have the power to, all of that, I firmly believe would mean so much to him. Especially when he had spent so much of his movie being let down, lied to, given empty promises, and treated as disposable.

There’s a saying, “we don’t respect others because of who they are, we respect others because of who we are.”

Simon may not fully believe that he deserved to be rescued and taken in by you or that he deserves your help and care and compassion. It’s not about who he is or whatever he had done in the past, it’s about who you are. And you are, in his eyes, a beautiful human being.
