i think what has been making me so emotional over all the wicked/gelphie tiktok edits, the fanfics, the fanart, the posts, is that the likelihood of it being actually queer is so abysmal
i know ppl are positive and hopeful, but i know the country where i live would never do a full on expo on wicked for a movie that had queer rep (and it's everywhere here, so...)
even when it's so on the nose, when it's right there, when our existence is so clear, we are written off the main script, and we are forced to live and thrive in the sidelines with fanart, fanfictions, fan dedication, but never the main road
