If I knew that the last time that I saw you would be the last time that I ever saw you again, well then maybe I would have paid more attention to the details.

Maybe I would have counted exactly how many beauty marks you have on your body instead of just knowing that I loved every single one of them. Maybe I would have paid more attention to every single touch you gave me, so that when you were gone, I could replay them in my head and live them all over again.

If I knew that the very last time that I would ever see you again was going to be tomorrow, then maybe I would have lived today as if it were my last day. Maybe I would have opted-in to jump off of a plane. Maybe I would have attempted to jump off of a tall bridge and survive because whether I lived or not, it wouldn't have mattered at that moment.

If someone had warned me and told me that the last time I saw you would be the last time I would ever see you again, then maybe I would have taken more pictures, written more poems, and kissed you as if the only way to survive the ending of this world were to get all of the oxygen that was left out from your lungs.

Some days, when I think that I am dreaming because the world is so perfect, I realize that I am awake, and that the only real dream in the equation has always been you..
