Vincent  needs for revenge against Bob and he lists what Reynolds did him. Catherine is against to kill Reynolds and I don't think for " defend him" or "save him". She only draws a line about her conviction on what is right and what is wrong. Maybe her logic isn't morally right, but paraphrasing what Reynolds said " enough is enough". Catherine  pretty much gives Vincent an ultimatum: if he kills Bob there is no future for them.
