If I carry something too heavy, my abdomen has a little circle where it feels empty and uncomfortable and a little wrong. Because I pushed myself too hard at my hospital kitchen job. When I first had to leave that job, I couldn’t lift anything dense like at all (it’s the density more than the weight!) for three months. I did all kinds of imaging and doctor appointments and an upper GI and colonoscopy. Nothing conclusive. Did some core physical therapy.

I will never push my body beyond what it wants to do again.

I wrote a song about this, by the way. Our carts with food trays were five levels and you could fit two on each level, which should explain some more of the lyrics.
