I think it's time for me to break my silence on all this EXO/Kris lawsuit messed up situation business. Normally, I'd be the one to sit back and just read everyone's tweets and fast spreading rumours but frankly, I don't even know what to believe any more, so I thought I should address what's been going on and my thoughts and feelings on all of this.
Like most fans, I woke up to the news of Kris wanting to nullify his contract yesterday, and I took it as a joke at a first, I couldn't believe that this was actually happening. I mean for those of you who saw fancams of EXO's Shanghai Showcase last weekend, all members appeared to be really happy that day, and it was so cute having OT12 back together again after EXO-M promotions in China. The only thing that made me speculate something was wrong was the fact that only 11 members showed up at the airport to go back to South Korea, like 'Where was Kris?' so I thought maybe he'd gone to visit family, and he'd return to South Korea in a few days.
Throughout the day yesterday, more and more rumours started circulating, we had EXO-K performing on Mcountdown and well I have to say, watching the BTS of their performance almost made me cry. They looked so lost and genuinely upset, I mean happy virus Chanyeol didn't even smile once, and if you can see that, you know something is definitely wrong.. :( In my opinion, EXO-K haven't been as happy as they normally are while promoting, so I think they knew something was up, maybe with Kris, but I honestly think they didn't know themselves that it would result in Kris filing for a lawsuit and wanting to nullify his contract. I don't think they knew it would come to such drastic measures. You can evidently see they were NOT in the mood to perform yesterday, and despite putting on a brave face, watching Suho alone on stage accepting their 2nd win broke my heart. His speech, his thumbs up gesture the whole way through made many people speculate whether his speech was an indirect comment to Kris looking out only for himself, or the complete opposite, which is that EXO 'We are One' and OT12 together. Also many people questioned why other members were not on stage as well, and I guess it's because they were too devastated and distraught about all this, I mean to be honest, if EXO didn't win the show, I don't even think Suho would be on stage, but because they did, he had to remain strong for his members and collect the award gracefully, which I was so proud of him for. Now regarding this whole interview with Suho at Mcountdown, I don't believe any of it.. there is no concrete evidence to show that he said Kris's actions were irresponsible and until I see a video of those words coming out from his mouth, I don't doubt for a second that he'd say such a thing. To me, EXO will always be brothers/family before work buddies. I mean they've been with each other practically 24/7 for the past 2 years since debut, and for most of them, even years before during training.. you really think Suho would come out and say that about his friend, exo's father figure?!?
After this came all the social media unfollowings..it started with Chanyeol, Tao and Lay I think who unfollowed Kris, Sehun never followed Kris in the first place.. but then Luhan soon followed the unfollowings. I personally don't think EXO members themselves chose to unfollow Kris, I mean why would they? If anything, I think they'd want nothing more than to be in the same room and talk to him. The only member left following Kris was Baekhyun (not anymore, he unfollowed Kris too). To me, this seemed like SM's doing...just for the fact that they wish for the members not to have contact with Kris..not sure why...I also believe that SM have the power to update the member's social media platforms.. Sehun and the question mark I believe was posted by him, himself, because not only were we confused, but he was too, which led me to believe that EXO members found out through social media.. I could be wrong.. but I'm sticking with what I think. Chanyeol's instagram update for me was SM all over...I don't believe Chanyeol would post something like that, and again with Tao, many people say it's him, many people don't, this is where I got lost with believing what was true and what was not. For those who ship members together, or even acknowledge the member's close relationships will know that Tao and Chanyeol were both extremely close with Kris which makes me think even more that it was not them who posted these things. I mean, yes they may be hurt or angry for not knowing about this, but even still, you think they'd declare their anger or betrayal publicly?! Even if it was member's themselves posting, I believe their posts were not by choice, but by what their company wanted them to do. Also, the whole taking away their phones... sounds soo much like something SM would do, and if the rumours are true that Baekhyun lied about leaving his phone in dorm, then i applaud him for his rebellion against SM.
SM are no angels, and it seems to me like they still haven't learnt their lesson on how to treat idols, and its costing them, the amount of hate they are getting right now is crazy. Yesterday, I was so angry at them for the way they treat their idols and use them to make money..I mean this isn't the first, or second time it's happening.. they just never seem to learn. The fact that they are (in my opinion) trying to turn everyone, including EXO members against Kris is just by far the cruellest thing ever. They will never ever take the blame for something they did but rather pin it all on one person who for once has actually stood up for himself, I don't even know... SM need to get their crap together honestly cos without their idols, they'd be nothing..
Okay now onto Kris, he was never my bias but I respected him as a member of EXO and as EXO-M's leader, and over time I realised how cool and dorky he was. Watching every video EXO related, you could see how Kris acted around members, his love for them and how he even ruined his 'cold city guy' image, haha, but that was the Kris everyone adored. Being one of the 4 chinese members, you can see the hardships they go through by being in a korean originated band. I mean, I've seen it with Super Junior, Hangeng, Henry and Zhoumi, the members have to almost work double as hard to try to fit in. I can only imagine how hard it must be for him, Luhan, Tao and Lay. The reasons and rumours to Kris' sudden lawsuit had me asking all sorts of questions. It must have probably built up over a long period of time for it to escalate to something like this, he's probably been struggling for a while now. Whether it's for financial or health reasons, we as EXO fans should respect whatever decision he makes, I mean this can't be easy for him, imagine all the backlash he is getting, all the blame from SM (well I think they're partly to blame) and possibly 11 brothers/friends he may have lost ( I seriously hope not, but knowing SM its possible). To have to come to terms that EXO will no longer be OT12, but have 11 members is soo difficult, but think about EXO members and Kris, if you were in their positions and if you are a true fan, you'd want what's best for all of them, so please stop with all the bashing, and the whole 'we're not one any more', think how hard the members have it now... how hard it must be for Kris and the future he has ahead, and how other members are coping.. Stay strong for all of them <3
As for what's to come, whether EXO remain a 12 member boyband (unlikely with the way Kris is being treated) or become OT11, remember to stick by all 12 members. Although I hate to say it, don't bash SM any more either, there's no point, clearly they are just some messed up company but EXO as well as other talented artists and groups are part of that company and by bashing SM, you're also affecting the idols. It's more than unfair I know, and as much as I want the idols to walk out and start their own company (hahah Siwon, Heechul and Suho..ehem i'm waiting for that day), the members are still with SM so please respect that. Also, for the next few days, I wouldn't believe anything that the members are posting on social media (unless they are beaultiful selca's of themselves :P), .. i just don't believe its the members themselves writing all this...
Anyways, I hope over time this all calms down, and that all of EXO are happy, safe, and healthy, that's all that matters. I wish the best for Kris, I really do and will continue to support him :) Also I hope EXO-K continues with their promotions of Overdose and they kill the charts, and that the upcoming concerts go on as planned, and I'm sure EXO will give it their all, no matter the circumstances, and that what happens to the future of EXO-M will be of the boy's best interests. EXO fighting!! <3
