On Female Yuu's

I think the reason I really like the idea of female Yuu's in Twisted wonderland is the fact that to me that is one of the horrors.

Like out of everything that could happen to a girl, being trapped in an all-male school is one of the top 10 things you would kys over. (in my opinion as a woman.)

Like it would be bad enough to be trapped in another world, but to be trapped in another world with a large portion of men out to kill you.

Geez.

And like reasonably yuu would eventually learn that they won't hurt or you know her. But before hand, before he gets to know most of these people? being alone magicless in a world where you hold no standing, no assistance, and no knowledge in?

That would be hell.

That to say, there are other reasons I like female Yuu.

For example the option of what to do when she gets there. I've seen a majority of fics have her pretend to be a man, most address this pretty well or just choose to go the more comedy route about it. However, I really like when they actually have the real reason she was so willing to play at being a guy addressed, because not many do that.

There are also the au's where people just have the school be coed, also interesting, usually done well.

Lastly there are the au's where she just outright says she's a girl. Also understandable, very brave. I do wish some would address how that might cause her some paranoia.

(I really liked this one fic that also addressed how the yuu who pretended to be a guy lowkey felt horrible that people just automatically assumed she was a man, because even though that was what she wanted, it still stung. personally, I thought it was really well done.)

Worrying about getting home to Minneapolis in the next months to see family because the mom who raised me is having significant health troubles.

And amidst all the worry I had a sudden mental image of attempting to sneak through the Minneapolis airport in a generic Walmart American flag hat. Like. Will this help? Will this work? Will I, an ambiguously brown trans person, get through? I wanna see my mom.

I find this really funny but I think that might be stress.
