maybe it’s true that I fell in love with you because you show me the person I’d like to be

but I lost all my innocence in the fights of existence when I look inside I find no trace of light

and no matter how hard I try there’s no way to purify this tainted soul of mine it has forever lost its shine

but I will not complain as long as you are spared the pain as long as life treats you kind I’m happy to sacrifice my peace of mind
