I've been struggling with what my next move will be after graduation in May. Yesterday, one of my old poetry TA's encouraged me to apply for grad school in my current degree field. This whole semester I've been feeling like I don't fit in the writing community because I don't have the same academic background as everyone or the same appreciation for certain genres and authors. It felt nice to hear from someone that they enjoy my writing and that they think it could be used for a grad application portfolio. It made me feel like I'm not just writing words to a void that no one wants to read.
Anyway, idk if I'll apply to be honest. School has started to wreck my love for writing and I'm just mentally exhausted from the "grind" over my four years here.
