Short answer: No, Nickelback is not Frank-core. And this is from someone who unironically bumps Nickelback.
A few quick Bands/Artists/Songs who are Frank-core off the top of my head.
Alice In Chains - hands down. I'm not even talking the obvious songs. I Stay Away, Sunshine, Rain When I Die? Listening to them as I write, currently.
Ariana Grande - very baby girl for a character like him. But there's enough self loathing in some of those song lyrics that just work.
8mm - Don't Give it Up

That said, that list isn't what I think Frank listens to. That's completely different.
