Working on a presentation for my department’s research symposium and discovering that communication to a scientific audience is so much more freakin difficult that communicating to non-science people. Like, how much do I need to explain? Is it condescending to remind geologists about the importance of bridgmanite in the mantle? How much can I expect my fellow undergrads to know about spin state? and, critically, HOW THE HELL DO I CONDENSE MY RESEARCH INTO A FIVE MINUTE TALK
