Winfield man dies in early Monday crash on Interstate 22

One person died in a crash early Monday in Marion County.

The crash happened around 12:10 a.m. Monday on Interstate 22, about one mile west of Hamilton. Kenneth Lowery, of Winfield, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet pickup when his car went off the road and hit a tree, according to Cpl. Richard Itter.

Lowery was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 55.

WALKER COUNTY, Ala. — A large stone thrown off an overpass hit a Walker County woman’s car as she drove along I-22, just before exit 78.
