The weather didn’t look good in the Olympics. The upper Puget Sound also seemed wet. So we took to the east and found a new place on Rattlesnake Dance Ridge. We also went up to Manastash Ridge West Summit to extend the hiking distance.

The mountain weather was questionable. So we drove out to Eastern Washington after yesterday’s outing. The initial plan was to explore Hog Ranch Buttes. But the military training was underway today. Visitors also need to undergo a background check before entering. So next time, I’ll have to call before making the long drive.

The rainfall outlook in the mountains was high. So once again, we followed the sunshine east to Yakima Skyline Ridge. We spent New Year’s Eve here six years ago. And it continued to be my go-to outing during the rainy season. I also consider the ridge to be the most scenic part of the river canyon.
