Rant.1
Creativity is as dead as chivalry it would appear, if not more so.
Chivalry does still exist, to a slight degree, but it is nothing like the tales of old. There are no longer any knights in shining armor, only a Dark Knight currently occupying every media outlet. There are, however, gentlemen left in the world, which I would suppose is better than nothing at all.
Creativity, however, appears to be an extinct trait, long lost to the re-imaginings, reboots, remakes, and whatnot. As much as I would like tho think that the ideas I have are original and of my own making, I do fear that they would appear to be just another rehash of something that has already been thought of.
Of course everything has already been thought of. With well over six billion minds populating this planet, it's near impossible to have a truly original idea. That's not my point though. My point is that every publicized, visualized, and mass produced/distributed idea appear to be some repetitive form of some other idea from the past that is just jumbled around and pieced back together to gain some margin of profit.
I'd like to think my 'Modern Promethean' idea is original (it's a working title). I'd like to think that The Beauty of Mad Men is original. Odds are that neither are, but I wouldn't know until someone else pointed it out to me. For now, I'm left to dread the day when I finally get up the nerve to attempt to distribute my own writings, in a legitimate fashion.
Until that day comes, I'll hold a door open for you any day. That's chivalry for you.
