@raynepup just for you
Despite the impression he knew he gave off, Sam wasn't a fool. He caught the girl's scent the first time she stole food from his cafe's back room: she'd not been caught by anyone, but to any being with enhanced smell would have known she was there.
It told him whoever she was, she was desperate and deserved a helping hand. So he started leaving more food out in that area, in places easier to reach, and even told his staff to leave they room empty for longer periods of time to give her ample windows to snatch the food. More than just cakes, he started to leave sandwiches and bottles of water, and on one occasion a bag of apples.
Passing by the door, Sam caught a nose full of the scent. Strong enough to tell him she was still in the back room. Juggling with turning a blind eye again or finally seeing if he could get her to come in, Sam chose the latter.
He poked his hand through the doorway first, waving, and then his head.
"Hey there, don't run, I'd like to talk if you're up for it?" Sam called out softly, at long last laying eyes on the lone, young omega.
Sue him, he had a weakness for them in need.
