Why are people giving I.aM.mE dirt for doing a lot of tricks?
They have four new members that hold tricks as a strong point, not even including Emilio. They’re utilizing what they have, because not only are those tricks dangerous and hardcore af, but their choreo goes beyond impressive with its innovation and cleanliness.
People are never pleased. It’s either “Their performances are kind of dull, they need to add some stunts.” or “Lmao where the dancing at, all I see are flips.” I understand if you hold I.aM.mE’s stunts against them if they were shitty, but they weren’t. Watch that shit on half speed. The stunt chain at the end could have ended so terribly if even one of the members didn’t land in the proper place. They had to be so damn precise. (But I will throw out that Scarlett didn’t land the double back flip. She was capable of doing so during the rehearsal, but that’s what they meant when they said they were taking risks.)
As for the actual choreography, why are people accusing them of not actually dancing because they focus on brain banging too much? That’s their style. They have a bit of everything and also hold tutting as a strong point. They’re using it to their advantage, like all the other crews in this show use theirs.
So tell me: if their choreo isn’t good enough because you can’t appreciate the innovation of their brain banging, and can’t admit that their stunts are great simply because they have a lot of them up their sleeves, why would they have won ABDC 6 in the first place?
It’s not as simple as watching them and saying “Too many stunts, gtfo.” It’s so easy to hate on the things they’re good at. But the thing is that dance requires both appeal of the performance and technique. And they have a damn good amount of both.
I admit that I.aM.mE is one of my top crews I’m rooting for (alongside Quest and Kinjaz) and so, of course, I’m biased. But to call them a weaker crew than the others because they have a load of stuntmen and their own unique style is absolute garbage.
as much as i love chachi and the iamme crew, not everyone is giving love to the crew itself by saying that you only watch it for her, she is the strongest one, she’s the reason why they won. first off they won because they’re amazing together, worked really well and was original and everyone in that dance crew is their own person and strength, it’s not all about chachi.. you guys should really think about what you say. so what if she’s not competing with iamme? i am sure they all have their reasons like jaja being on SYTYCD, maybe chachi is doing something else as well? it was also said that she didn’t attend all of their rehersals so.. i am sure that one day she’ll talk about it or they will but i think we should be just happy that iamme is back with new members, i think they’re gonna take it home. BE RESPECTFUL TOWARDS EVERYONE.
