The "Hudson stuff" where somebody else drew a swastika on him ten years ago in a place he couldn't see and apparently that means he's racist and should be cancelled now...🫠🙃

Also I feel like some of these people have no idea what it's like to be a minority in a majority white small town...this is the stuff they thought was 'edgy' and fun - which doesn't make it edgy or fun, but it was a bunch of stupid drunk teenagers drawing and writing things for shock value with no thought to the wider implications

and Hudson has clearly already spoken about the pressures he felt to fit in during high school - some other people drawing a swastika on the Asian kid...yeah okay let's put all the blame on him.

i'm seeing tomdaya stuff from 2017 on my tl again and the mating rituals...showing off for each other, tom pulling out all his dance moves to impress zendaya, staying over at each other's houses, meeting each other's besties...i think i've seen this film before

People are allowed to feel however they want to about the pictures, it's a bad look and no one's saying otherwise and the tmz article was a...certain way to handle it.

But I do think people put celebrities on pedestals and expect them to be perfect, then people become weird stalkers who decide to dig through their past from when they were 16? 17? and lo and behold: you find things that disappoint you. You went looking for the worms and you found them, congrats. (not directed at you anon)

That being said, people hating on Hudson should ask themselves if Hudson is like this now. Has he done anything or said anything which suggests he's a bigot and a hater? He took part in a camp out with a bunch of other drunk teenagers (in a small town where 80%+ of people were white but that's another conversation) and they did some idiotic shit but is he like this now?

We're so quick to cancel people over everything and never imagine what it would be like if our past was put on display under the microscope like that and every stupid tweet or comment was dragged out for public consumption. He's clearly grown, and he's spoken about his values and also shown us that he stands by them. If people want to unfollow him that's completely fine, you should do whatever is best for your mental health <3 But dogpiling and shitting on someone for past mistakes never makes it better.
