Check ups at the shrink’s is perhaps the thing that Raleigh likes the least about being a pilot. It’s necessary though, he knows, so at least tries to play nice. When he’s dismissed from Stacker’s quarters after having received a very thorough verbal lashing, he heads down to the Med-Bay where he’s supposed to have a session. Scheduled in advance to come after his trial run with his new copilot — Mako, of course, but they hadn’t known who it would be back then — it’s more or less just a maintenance appointment. Gotta make sure his head is still in the game, right?Seated across from Dr. MacTavish, Raleigh’s fingers drum over his thigh. A nervous tick, no doubt. He thinks it might be one of Yancy’s…or Mako’s — she’s still in his head a little. He can feel the pull of her mind from across the Shatterdome. Their hangover is agony and he can’t do a thing to help her which is killing him even more. "Ranger Becket—" oh he’s never going to get used to being called that again. "—How are you faring after the trial with Miss Mori?"Raleigh lifts his head, smiling a little as he meets Dr. MacTavish’s gaze. “Well I’m not bad—” and here cue the butterflies. He’s gotten better at talking about his feelings, sure, but that doesn’t mean he’s not nervous still. “—I feel...like..." he trails off. "To be honest, Doc, I can't really focus on myself right now. Mako's still in my head."Dr. MacTavish nods, jotting down the information. A pause and a beat of silence as he glances up to the wall clock. They've still got an hour left of the session. "There's no chance of me getting anything out of you today, is there?" Raleigh cringes a little. "Probably not." There's a sigh. "Alright. You may go, Raleigh," he looks back. "If anyone asks, you were in here for an hour."The ranger grins. Whether it's an over abundance of affection in his system -- because really, for all her steel and quiet demeanour, Mako Mori is a very affectionate person -- or he's just really happy that he doesn't need to stay for the entire session, he stands and quickly presses a kiss to the good doctor's forehead. "You're a legend, Doc," Raleigh laughs as he slips out of the room.
