It’s not a story written by Nico H if it doesn’t feature some terrible young man who everybody will love anyway. In this case, that young man takes the form of an ‘ancient dragonborn’, a term used for descendants of particularly large and powerful dragons. While most dragonborns are descended from fairly small dragons, ancient dragonborns come from those who needed to take on human forms in order to be compatible with humans at all. Thus, rather than a seamless melding of humanoid and draconic features, these dragonborn inherited the ability to shift between a dragon form and a mostly-human form. The Braham Dragon Clan is incredibly old money, which Iago no longer sees a red cent of. He hates everyone, but it seems like the others in his guild have figured out how to ‘leash’ him, so to speak.
