This is always the difficult part of being telepathic.  Charlie can hear everyone, just like I did.  It would overwhelmed his mind.   No wonder he has been so frustrated.

Revelations//Lesson Learned

Charles: … Don’t encourage them, Cipher…

Cipher: And who should I be encouraging then?

Charles: ...

Charles: Not them that's for certain.

How It Began

Cipher had to take a second before she told him, gazing into those blue eyes,  ”It just… You seemed, despite my attempts, you weren’t interested in anything beyond being my best friend.”

Charles didn’t reply immediatelly. His mind was a mess. What to do after hearing the words she had said? What to say? What to, after all, think? His hand remained still, holding Cipher’s as he blinked. “I am not worth being anything more… I don’t deserve it…” was everything that came to his mind. But he didn’t say it. What would have Cipher thought if he had? Obviously that he was rejecting her… And no. No wasn’t. He could’t actually. He wanted to tell her that he felt the same… but somehow he couldn’t find the words to say it… “Cipher… You are wrong” was everything he could mutter.

Cipher took what was left of her dented bravery and did the only possible thing she could think of.    She leaned into Charles and kissed him.   She could think of no other possible thing that could be said.   Cipher had kissed him once before, but the situation was differently.   It was chaste and she let him decide what it could become.

Her kiss was so unexpected Charles hadn’t enough time to take a breath. However, he felt his hands moving slowly towards her cheeks and his eyes closing, as he contained a sigh of delightment, leaning closer to her. And it was like he had imagined it would, as he had tried to tell himself it would. It was better. It was… nearly relieving. It was… like if he had been waiting for that to happen all his life.

Cipher felt more than relaxed against Charles, her arms encircling around Charles neck.  The kiss was chaste and soft and it felt wonderful, and unlike anything she felt before.   This love she felt for Charles was unlike anything else she could have hoped for, and unconscious her fingers had entangled themselves in his hair.
