Luke was already fiddling with the controls on the machine when he reached a rather desolate place, or so he thought. Each second he stayed here, the higher the chance of a paradox due to the machine being a prototype. He didn’t want to test the theory at all in hopes that nothing would go wrong if nothing was done. No use in delaying time.
Once he had confirmed the location, someone had come within radius of the machine. His eyes widened in shock and fear of the newest aspect to the complex formula. This wouldn’t go well. And of course, said perpetrator was one person Luke didn’t want to deal with, Clive Dove. The shock dulled itself, but his feelings of fear and exasperation mixed as he desperately attempted to cease the act of moving across the spaces. And to his luck, the act never did stop as much as he would want it to. It never stopped at all. It just kept going. Just like the enigma many call time.
He shouted, sounding furious, yet the small thread of concern of what could and will happen. He held the watch close as if it would do anything better for him and the situation. Unfortunately, that had no effect and the watch produce a excruciatingly bright light that engulfed everything that was in range.
When the atmosphere turned into a scene of stars and universes, Luke shut his eyes to endure the terrible turbulence he might receive on his end. The travel was unlike one he had ever experienced before. The turbulence was violent, similar to a high level earthquake, it didn’t didn’t feel like floating anymore, it just felt like falling and falling at the velocity of 9.8 meters per seconds, and that was terrifying. And most of all, Luke felt nauseous, it gave him a headache.
Finally reaching the ground on what felt like hours, Luke immediately fell to his knees. He never did have much of a fondness of rollercoasters like that, but when he thought everything was over, the ground seemed to tilt. It wasn’t ground either, it was metal.
Luke was unstable as he stood up, but kept his balance enough so he could lean on the wall. Shaking off the nausea he had, Luke surveyed his surroundings. It was strikingly familiar, all of it. And he remembered what it was like yesterday, even if he wanted to forget it all.
This was Clive’s fortress.
And the git was also here.
Luke had to curse his luck.
