the cameras had seen his face. no matter, he had no time to disable them. gabriel was back. apollyon had orders to finish what erik had started. the girl wasn't even conscious. it would not be his hardest mission.
he moved through the hospital with ease. he looked like he was just as worn down as everyone else around him. he could have just recieved news that a loved one wouldn't make it for all they knew. no one suspected his true purpose was to end a life, not to save one.
the quiet hum of the machines, the blip of the heart monitor, and the sound of the oxygen machine as it kept her breathing were steady and even. they did not see his gun. screwing on the silencer, he put the barrel to just behind her ear, where he knew the implant was. this would be a horrid mess, but they couldn't take any chances. he turned off the machines at her bedside.
he fired. she died. someone would have heard the shot. a silencer wasn't silent, despite the name. and of course now there was a spray of blood to deal with. he wiped his face and hands, put on his leather jacket, and headed for the door. it wasn't his hardest mission.
