gdi I've become emotionally compromised
I'M GOING TO MAKE A THING.
[text] A drunken agent started texting me. She wouldn't stop telling me to do something until I told her I'd do it. [text] I love you. <3
She had been caught up in a slew of other events, things that had separated her thoughts of Lilly and the infant twins. When she sees the messge, her insides turn. This was the second person to tell her that today. It almost made her feel guilty, that her mind was in such different places.
But she can't deny that she loves Lilly just as much as she loves Mia.
[text] I love you too, Lilly.
[text] Are you and the babies okay?

To all the doctors, nurses, assistants, and everyone else in SHIELD's medical department:
A personal issue arose last night, which is why I was unable to come in today. I apologize.
I have reworked the schedule slightly to give myself some time, keeping in mind that I know some of you are on leave yourself. It is attached to this message.
I'll be back in a week. I'll be reachable via email, and phone during that time, should anything arise.
Thank you, Revekka Dragomirov, MD Head of Medical

Soooo it must be noted that the mun had started this thing a while back where she would screenshot things from her dash that were her complete favorite things ever. And I didn't realize it, but-- it's perfect for an end of the year post.
So. These are my ten favorite posts from 2013. c:
A Trip to Torrington
It was too early in the morning for a call like this.
December 30th, 2013, approximately five in the morning. The phone was ringing.
Lilly was supposed to have been back from visiting her parents in Connecticut three days ago. “I’ll just be gone over Christmas, I’m coming back on the 27th. I’m just visiting my parents for Christmas.”
That’s what she’d said; and the twenty-seventh, the twenty-eighth, and twenty-ninth went by without so much as a text message saying something had come up.
Nobody knew anything until there was a sighting of her on the side of a road, huddle over in pain. The person who’d seen her immediately pulled over, noticing that the redheaded woman was clearly pregnant, but also lacked shoes and a coat. In winter, that wasn’t necessarily a good thing.
The good samaritan had to push her into his car so he could take her to the hospital, and with everything that was going on, police hadn’t arrived until after there were two little voices screaming their little lungs out and their very exhausted mother had gotten a chance to hold her babies.
She’d been in a daze the whole time though, as she cried and pushed and gripped the sides of the hospital bed and smiled at little Leah and Aiden.
Lilly had come out of her fog enough to answer some questions. No, she didn’t know what day it was. No, she didn’t know how she ended up on the side of the road twenty minutes from Torrington. No, she didn’t know what happened.
Yes, there is someone you can call.
Lilly had given a few numbers, just the people she talked to most at work and her parents’ house. It was a bit disappointing to her that it was only four numbers in total.
December 30th, 2013, approximately five in the morning. The phone was ringing. If unanswered, the officers would simply leave a message asking Jenn, or Dan, or Rev or Olive to come to an address. A hospital in Torrington Connecticut. They had questions, needed answers, and Lilly needed someone she knew.
A dreadful sense of death had been plaguing Olive lately. It weaseled into her dreams, into her thoughts. She knew it wasn't her own death, but the thought of it chilled her to the bone. The fact that her parents were in the city to stay for New Years had distracted her some, but the thought would nag anyway. Her nights were typically sleepless, but tonight, she had slept.
Olive had woken up just before the phone rang. She laid in the quiet of her apartment, counting down the seconds. Something was going to happen, she could feel it. Something had happened. She didn't feel so dreadful... elated, maybe? But still a little off.
The phone was ringing now. Olive sighed, turning over in the sheets as she searched for her phone. She finally found it beneath the sheets, and grabbed it, putting it to her ear.
"Hello? Yes, this is she." She breathed, exhausted, wiping the sleepiness off of her face. "Lilly-- Lilly Madoc? She's um-- yes, I know her. Is she alright? --Twins? Oh, oh, hold on." Olive sat up, finding herself getting out of bed. "Hospital, Torrington, Connecticut. Right, no, you don't have to repeat, I have the address down. I'll be there as soon as I can." Torrington, Connecticut. She searched it on her phone, the address and the zipcode. Olive called in to work, asking to go in late. "I'll take the night shift," she promised.
Torrington, Connecticut was a place she had never been. Olive didn't really recall anything prior to the drive-- it was a quick shower, throwing on clothes, munching on an apple and taking a bottle of water with her. A jacket, her purse. Then it was to her car, and the long drive upstate.
Olive hadn't heard from Lilly since the phone call on Christmas. She wasn't sure when she was supposed to get home, either, but the call about the twins made her realize what the elation was about. Still, there was something nagging at her. If the police called to tell her about this, then something must have come up. It had Olive on edge.
The hospital made her queasy, but Olive walked in anyway. She asked for Lilly Madoc at the front desk, and ended up having to go through a trail of officers and questions before she could finally see her. By the time she was in the room, Olive was feeling exhausted all over again, but that might have been from the early call. Either way, she was here.
