Royal Business

Kunzite had poured over the proposal for far longer than he'd planned.  It had taken him weeks to convince the counsel that it would be a good idea to invite the leader of the Princess's royal court to Earth.

He'd sent it under the pretense that it would help ease tensions between the two kingdoms.  He knew that the Venusian would see through that for what it was.  He'd wanted her to come back for a visit and he was doing exactly as she asked.

He had half volunteered, half been appointed to keep her company for the day.  He was to show her around, most of which she'd already seen but no one else had to know that, and fill her in on the customs of Earth, which she would be thrilled about.

He had been right in one respect.  His brother, and the Prince, had seen right through him.  They called him out on his motives the second he'd brought the idea up.

However, as he stood waiting for her at the predetermined entrance point, he was certain he didn't regret his decision.

As he saw her form appear, he bowed.

"Sailor Venus, Guardian of Princess Serenity of the Moon Kingdom.  I, Lord Kunzite of Royal Guard, welcome you to Earth."

"I have three months to live."

He stopped mid-movement, eyeing her closely.  He'd hope, beyond anything else, that this was some sort of terrible joke on her part.  However, her face was set and serious.

"What do you mean?" he found himself asking anyways.

∇ -. old age/aging headcanon

Kunzite looks forward to growing old.  He won't so much mind aging being slowed down (for example if he lives in Crystal Tokyo) but he definitely looks forward to passing on his knowledge.  He's lived only to a young age multiple times and is ready to try different stages.

"KUNZITE" ;A; Minako was a sniveling mess, chewing at her bottom lip, eyes were puffy and red, her fists, clenched and white at the knuckles. "I HAD A HORRIBLE DREAM."

He stares at the woman outside his door for a fraction of a second before pulling her into his arms.  She had come across town for a nightmare.

"It's okay.  I'll listen."

"How are you still asleep?" Kunzite said with an air of shock, gently shaking a shoulder as he sat on the edge of the bed.  "It's almost nine!  More like Sleeping Beauty than Princess Venus."

♦: Slow dancing

Kunzite risked a small smile as one hand tightened on her waist and the other on her hand.  They moved slowly to the music, just as they'd been taught all their lives.  He could feel all eyes on them, but he'd forgotten them the second they'd taken the floor together.

This was they first time they had, and could, publicly be seen together like this.  Kunzite thought he'd revel in feeling.  He wasn't one to walk around spilling his private life; however, he also wasn't one to actively avoid the truth.  Especially when the truth was so dazzling.  Even if it was just for show of the conference, he liked others seeing her as his partner.

But, the second he'd seen her and the second the stepped up to dance, he'd completely forgotten all of that.

He kept his eyes eyes straight and his face returned straight, he barely leaned forward, talking lowly with his lips barely moving, it would still do little good to get caught.

"Have I said how beautiful you look tonight, Princess?"
