That’s a good question.

You see, I’ve noticed that my mother has never been dangerously ill all this time. She occasionally gets coughs or sniffles, but those aren’t too hard to do away with ... and yet, she still spends almost all her time in bed. 

She often looks distressed. I have asked her if she was in pain a few times, she always insists that she is fine. What is she not telling me? What is she upset about?
