How do you go about making your rainbow reels? i'd imagine it takes ages, but they look so nice!

To be honest only the first one took a long time, after that it’s pretty straight forward. I use a program that captures frames from video and saves them as images, and I do it at whatever interval will get me close to 800 frames (close to 1 ever 5 or so seconds), then I clean up the beginning and ending frames so I don’t have giant blocks of solid color where the credits are. Then I just run a python script that I wrote that reads in each image, find its average color and save it as a row in a matrix and then write out the entire matrix to a image.
