Also Nathaniel/Sebastian has been one of my favorite rare pairings for... god, two years? At least? Shortly after I got into the fandom, anyways.

Ok but really When I was taking my medical classes, one of the very first things we learned about patient rights was that the patient could refuse any procedure at any time. And if the person that was going to do the procedure wasn't a doctor, they were not allowed to try to convince, or force the patient to do so. What we needed to do was make a note in the patient's file that they refused, so everyone's bases were covered. We attempted the procedure and didn't do it to respect the patient's wishes, not neglecting to do something. We would then inform the doctor, and they would take it from there. Now I understand that there are plenty of doctors out there who give people shit and are fat shaming, and this is wrong. But patients should definitely not be getting this from techs, medical assistants, phlebotomists, etc. We are literally NOT ALLOWED to do that. You are allowed to refuse any procedure, including being weighed. Don't let anyone try to tell you otherwise.
Also I both laugh and watch in horror at the promo images that Netflix has for Madoka Magica. Because, yeah, the promo images are part of the series and the deconstruction of the magical girl genre, but at the same time, from the promo stuff it looks like a cutsey show that one would actually show little girls now.
I'm sure there are plenty of little girls who could handle it, but its a serious show disguised in cute dresses. Not the sort of thing you'd want if you're looking for something more lighthearted.
I really hate it when subtitles don't have solid black outlines around white lettering. If the subtitles are going to be on the picture itself, not having well-defined borders are so frustrating.
I do really love the trend I've seen in some things, like widescreen stuff, where the subtitles are in the bottom black strip. Then it isn't an issue.
But UGH. I know that some people find the yellow-with-black outline subtitles ugly, but at least I can read them.
smh
Whenever I want to work a specific time on a task, it's usually in half-an-hour increments, and I've been using Welcome to Night Vale for that. I'm VERY far behind, and that isn't really an issue, but I do wonder what I should use when I've caught up. At least I have time to mull it over.
Do you ever have a time when you buy some sort of food item, anticipating decency, but then getting holy shit amazing?
That was me and the sun-dried tomato bagel I just ate.
So there's a good chance that this is because I haven't been around the anime scene much in the past few years, but when I was checking out Sword Art Online on the Netflix webpage for it, I saw that they also had Spanish subtitles.
That is so cool.
I remember seeing before that the Evangelion DVDs had Spanish and French subtitles besides English ones, but for awhile it was the only one I saw that did, and I think it was merely because it was Evangelion.
But yes, I like this including of more Spanish subtitles for anime. I am all about making anime accessible to more people!
I find it amusing how specific genres can get nowadays. Sometimes they can get so specific that people will inevitably start saying that one title is a copycat of another.
But when we realize that it's a genre, a ton of options open up. And I love how different the stories can be.
