"If you want to go, it's alright." - from El.
Ashlynn’s felt the longing for this moment since the first time she returned to the Keep after the news broke. She’s craved the grass pillowing her head, the feel of sweat on her skin, the stretch in her arms from the bow, a full belly and eyes closed so she wouldn’t have to watch the sun rise. ( she can enjoy the night a bit longer … she demands to. ) Because El’s there, tucked against her, warm and solid and she liked the way his breathing timed in rhythm with the song of cicadas. “Why would I want to do that?” She asked. With a sigh loose from her lips, she opened her eyes and watched the glow of the coming morning illuminate his face, a tinge of sadness while her smile grew faint. ( he was beautiful like this. a different beauty than when they moved between trees following a fresh trail. and it was something she couldn’t help but notice every time. ) — And every time was beginning to feel like last time. Resting her head atop his shoulder, she curled an arm around him once more. “Just a bit longer.”It felt like a prayer.
