The International Automotive Task Force (IATF) established the ISO/TS 16949 standard, which is now known as the IATF 16949 standard, in 1999
The IATF 16949 standard specifies the elements of a quality management system that is aligned with the automotive sector to give businesses a uniform framework for implementation and to help them fulfill the requirements of their clients and the wider market for organizational quality and consistency. IATF 16949 is centered on seven Quality Management Principles and is completely aligned with the framework and application of ISO 9001:2015.
