Just finished reading I BELIEVE IN A THING CALLED LOVE by Maurene Goo. It was such a lovely, endearing story! My favorite character was hands down Desiâs appa. I loved him so much! What a sweet, sweet dad! The dad-daughter relationship was the best thing in this book! I honestly would LOVE to know more about the story of her parents. I found myself tearing up whenever a snippet from the past was mentioned. And I really liked that ending. âĄ
Also, I would like to thank Maurene Goo for including THE KING 2 HEARTS* among the K dramas mentioned in the book. TK2H is my all-time favorite Korean drama! Thatâs an understatement, I was so crazy about it! I followed all new episodes every Wednesday and Thursday nights in real time on my laptop back in 2012 even though I couldnât understand a thing because there were no English subtitles in real time, and I had to wait, like, 12 hours (sometimes more) for the subtitles to be available. Iâve always felt itâs so underrated, so Iâm really glad itâs reaching more audiences now.
*For those who are interested, THE KING 2 HEARTS is a Korean drama featuring a hypothetical modern-day South Korea under a constitutional monarchy. The South Korean Prince meets the North Korean Special Forces officer/soldier who was trained to kill him, but of course, of course they fell in love. Itâs basically enemies-to-lovers (one of my favorite tropes), plus super awesome supporting characters! I LOVED this drama so much, and I was upset it barely got any recognition/award in South Korea. So if any of you ever decides to give TK2H a try, I hope youâll love it as well.
Anyway, this was supposed to be a post about the book I BELIEVE IN A THING CALLED LOVE, which I enjoyed reading, but apparently, I got carried away. Lol.
