The first thing he noticed was a dull throb in his head, then the feeling of water soaking his feet. He had expected to hear the King of Red Lions speaking to him, he had expected to smell the sea but he didn’t. That’s what caused the young boy to sit up in a flash.
His eyes scanned around the area, his eyes wide in shock. The reason why he couldn’t smell the sea became obvious. This was a lake. That there laid the problem. He had seen ponds in his travels but never anything quite this size. Water always surrounded the islands. The land never surrounded the water.
Instinctively, Link reached for the Master Sword, feeling some comfort that he hadn’t lost it. Next his hand went to the Mirror Shield, it was still there, good. Finally his hand searched for the Wind Waker. It was where it always was.
Now, next problem, finding the King of Red Lions and where he was.
“King! King of Red Lions!”
Scanning over the lake seemed to do little good, his boat and mentor simply wasn’t there. The only thing keeping Link from outright panicking was the fact that there seemed to be a castle of sort that glowed a calming blue.
Perhaps they’d know something! But, right now, he was only gasping at straws to understand where he was. The young boy pushed himself onto his own two feet and walked up the hill towards the castle.
“Gah!” Link yelled out as something started to attack him. It looked to be a giant lizard, certainly a monster he had never seen. That’s when panic seized him, giving him the response to grip his sword and to fight back.
