Pepper smiled at the board members who left the conference room and sent them off with a wave, wishing them a great weekend. After a moment, her eyes fell onto Tony, "You could start by showing up on time to things." She picked up her tablet and swiped through meeting reminders, "Or are you talking about something else?" She asked, tilting her head to the side as she observed him.

Pepper gazed lovingly at Tony and stood up from where she was sitting on the couch, wrapping him up in her arms and hugging him tightly. "I missed you."

Pepper couldn’t help but laugh at Aiden’s words, eyes sparkling with mirth. “I told you he was like this.” She mentioned, glancing at the subject of the conversation. Tony Stark attempting to wrangle himself out of his suit. FRIDAY wasn’t pleased with him, so she was making it even harder to get out of the suit. Pepper glanced at Aiden, “He’s really your problem now, honey.” She rested a hand on Aiden’s shoulder, laughter bubbling up again when Tony swore loudly. 

“But honestly.” Pepper added softly, “He wouldn’t be standing in one piece, right here and now, without you.” Pepper continued, squeezing her shoulder. Pepper would always be grateful for the woman who pulled Tony out of the darkness and back into the land of the living.

"Aiden!" Pepper's face lit up as she spotted the other woman approaching the table. She rose to her feet and pulled Aiden into a warm hug. "I'm so glad you called me for dinner," she said, her voice bright. It had been weeks since she'd had any time to socialize and had no time to check in with Aiden. Gesturing toward the empty chair, she settled back into her seat. "I feel like all I do is work these days. Tell your husband to give me a break," she teased.

"You know, I'm very tired of this over the hill joke. It's my birthday, I have no issues with growing older." However, she did smile when the card and present was passed over to her, "Thank you, though."

Pepper gasped in surprise at the sound of Regina's voice and dropped the box that was in her hand, grimacing at the crunch of something valuable most likely breaking under hit. "Regina." She turned to her quickly, "You scared me!" She crossed her arms over her chest. She hadn't been expecting her home yet and having taken off a day from work simply to relax, she knew that Regina would be none too pleased to know that Pepper was still working.

Pepper glanced up from the stacks of paperwork on her desk, smiling at the man entering her office. Tony had been gone for nearly a week and she glad he made it home safe. She stood from her seat and sauntered over to him, coming to stop when she reached him. "Welcome home." She murmured, waiting for him to make the first move.
