He   hadn’t   anticipated   the   transporter   malfunction      -----   neither   of   them   had.   None   of   them   had.   Yet   ,   it   was   now   inoperable.   Or   rather   ,   it   was   operable   but   at   a   considerable   risk   to   the   safety   of   the   crew.   Therefore   ,   the   captain   had   ordered   it   to   not   be   used   at   all.   A   fact   the   good   doctor   made   clear   that   he   agreed   with.

However   ,   it   did   not   change   the   fact   that   there   had   been   an   unintended   side   effect   of   the   materialization   break   down   process.   A   fact   which   seemed   to   have   split   Spock   in   half.   Both   ,   his   vulcan   and   human   halves   seemingly   now   split   down   the   middle.

Logic   and   emotion.

❝      It   would   seem   that   we   must   now   physically   co-exist   together.   You   ,   my   logical   half   ,   and   me   the   human   and   emotional   half.   Perhaps   this   experience   will   leave   me   with   renewed   sense   of   self   when   it   is   all   over.   This   is   a   remarkably   fascinating   opportunity   to   study   our   own   mind.      ❞

❝      I   am   not   certain   that   is   wise.      ❞         It   was   well   known   that   Vulcans   were   a   peaceful   race.   They   chose   logic   over   emotions.   They   were   more   affiliated   with   science   and   logic      -----         diplomats.   But   it   was   also   well   known   that   their   body   types   concealed   a   great   deal   of   strength      -----         inhuman   strength   at   that.   Well   ,   Spock   was   certain   his   captain   has   experienced   the   strength   of   a   vulcan   at   least   once   including   that   short   time   where   Spock   had   been   under   the   influence   of   a   virus   and   Jim   had   intentionally   angered   him   in   order   to   get   him   to   focus.
