Icarus Random Headcanon List

From here. Taking out a lot for spoilers/uninteresting oneliners.

2: Do they have any daily rituals? He likes to brush his tail, just to make sure the wiry feathers stay even and clean. Honestly it's a giant hinderance to have a giant tail, but here we are. 5: Cleanliness habits (personal, workspace, etc.) Enjoys being as tidy and organized as he can, to the point of being overly meticulous about it. 6: Eating habits and sample daily menu Still vegan For breakfast: Fruits, cereal without fucking milk, bread and jam. Lunch/Dinner: Salads, casserole, there are not many options when you cannot cook. 7: Favorite way to waste time Spends a lot of time on simply training for mercenary duty, but also will devote time to playing with his familiar and creating new items for his Medic profession. 8: Favorite indulgence and feelings surrounding indulging He definitely gambles, being a Caelum, and a Cardsharp and all. Not just on the battlefield as a matter of luck, but his favorite game is Blackjack. He sees nothing wrong with it as long as he wins, and knows how to not invest too much into it. 11: Intellectual pursuits? Sometimes reads. He's never actually been much of a language person as he has been a maths person. He's very good at more logical games, such as chess, but is definitely not competitive in this field or anything. 13: Sexual Orientation? Aromantic, asexual. How can you love someone else when you don't love yourself. 14: Physical abnormalities? Meat intolerance, lactose-intolerant, fairly underweight, I'm sure there's more. 24: Is there one subject of study that they excel at? Or do they even care about intellectual pursuits at all? Definitely a mathematical and scientific thinker. He always believes that there is only one correct answer to any one problem, very much down to a fault. If he doesn't know the answer, then obviously he is stupid. 25: How do they see themselves 5 years from today? Maybe dead, maybe different. If there is anything he is defnitely unsure about, it's his own future. 31: Most prized possession? Two things. A deck of cards with gilded golden lining and fantastical portrayals of some of mnemoir's most revered royalty. (Currently stolen) And of course, his mask, if you were to get an actual answer out of him, he would say someone important gave it to him. 33: Concept of home and family? He literally has neither. He sees that they are important for others, but cannot quite place what it is he is missing. Fundamentally, there is definitely some kind of pity he feels for himself on that accord, maybe even blames himself for his shitty draw of fate. 36: What makes them feel guilty? His own decisions leading to some negative outcome, any kind of failure he is even a small factor of. 39: Would you say that they have a superiority-complex? Inferiority-complex? Neither? A strong inferiority complex that hides behind a superiority complex. 40: How misanthropic are they? Perhaps the right word to describe his feelings is almost a sense of jealousy? Who knows. People are terrible and people are stupid, but none so more than Icarus. 42: How far did they get in formal education? What are their views on formal education vs self-education? Boarding school through high school. Was going to go attend a small medical school in Eurybia but became a mercenary instead. 43: Religion? Doesn't quite believe in Mnemoir. "But if she really does exist, then Mnemoir surely is the most cruel person alive." Still, even if it is her fault, what can he even do with that now? 44: Superstitions or views on the occult? More susceptible than one might think if you know where to push his buttons. 45: Do they express their thoughts through words or deeds? Others' deeds have a bigger impact on him, but he believes that there's equal strength in both. 47: How do they express love? 48: If this person were to get into a fist fight, what is their fighting style like? Not a physically strong person, so he goes for speed. Evade what he can, figure out the way in which his opponent fights, put in short and fast punches when they take a step off or expose a weakness. Icarus actually fights much better with his legs with kicks and such. 49: Is this person afraid of dying? Why or why not? No. He's been pretty ready for that for a while. Dying just means he really was a failure.

Let's assume Canon is out the window on Helix's part. Would Icarus kiss Helix if he bet him to?

Icarus would be completely torn between his pride and his complete and utter fear of intimacy, anything remotely romantic, human contact, showing his face, among other things. If a large sum of money, say, a solid 500 grand were in question, he’s go straight ahead and do it for the ridiculous bet. Or at least he’s be more willing to and then probably still bail last minute.

If not, the other factors would probably weight down to a point where he’s get really fucking flustered and have no idea what the hell to do. Most of the time even leaning into his personal bubble would trigger that, but gambling or betting for it would negate it to some extent.

In other words Icarus would get super flustered at the prolonged thought of it because intimacy is the opposite of anything he is remotely comfortable with, in which case he probably would just cast his pride into the wind because he can’t fucking deal with it all.

WJAYT WOULD ICARUS DO IF HE HAD TO DO A STAND UP COMEDY ROUTINE

Depending on the situation such as how he got forced to do stand-up comedy and also the audience he has to give it to, Icarus’ actions would vary.

If someone simply pushed him onto a stage and there were no children in the audience he’s probably just stab the person’s hand into a wall and walk away. If it was for some long backhanded method to do a quest he may comply but then kick the person who suggested it later. On the other hand, he would most definitely do it if someone bet him to.

Anyways, whatever reason it may be that he got dragged into actually attempting to do stand-up comedy, there’s a few things that should be noted. First, Icarus actually does have a sense of humor, a really dark and pessimistic one. Second, his way of speaking is quite frank, and in conjunction with the first fact, make’s for some stuff probably inappropriate for small children. Third, he doesn’t stutter, but he isn’t really the best public speaker and never makes eye contact. Not that it matters since he has a mask on. Altogether his humor is something like:"One time a man tried to take my mask off forcefully.""I put some slices into him forcefully."

Nobody then proceeds to laugh and it’s a very deadly, tense air for about an entire twenty minutes and Icarus doesn’t have to keep going.

CRACKS KNUCKLES FUNNY THAT YOU MAY ASK I AM COMPLETELY PREPARED TO NOT ANSWER THIS QUESTION AT ALL.

Icarus is a breed of Japanese rooster known as an onagadori rooster, known for their exceptionally long tails. Obviously a tail is not a face but fuck you. Icarus’ tail is naturally red, and he grows it out as a fit of pride.

What is more important is that Icarus looks mainland Chinese, not Japanese. So obviously his skin color and hair matches fairly well with that description. He has a beauty mark under the corner of his right eye, his entire face is narrow and is strangly outline by a debilitating scar he has had from birth. His cheeck shape looks like that of a worshipper of Hades, though he is strictly a practiced Satanist, so it is a bit ironic. His eyes shine like that of Benedict Cucumber’s and give of a perplexing gaze when illuminated by moonlight on the sixth night of every month. His ears are pointed at an arch, much like that of Legoland’s and his eyebrows are thick, but thin by Chinese standards, giving off a form similar to Rick Santorum’s. Overall, his nose and lips resemble Nicolas Cage’s and bear a tattoo of the satanic cross, a symbol of absolute allegiance to his cult.

ICARUSICARUSICARUS

1. His diet is extremely picky because he’s allergic/has a high intolerance to most things aside from veggies, fruit, and grain. 2. It’s actually a lot harder to see in the mask than you might think, he usually just relies on pure dumb luck to not run into things.3. Speaking of luck, for some reason he has a high inclination to gamble whenever he possibly can. It may just be his pride, but he almost never backs down from a bet or turns away from a chance to gamble. His favorite game is Blackjack, though it’s not exactly known if it’s because he counts cards. Either way, he’s apparently unnaturally lucky at it. 4. Somehow naturally always wakes up about 30 minutes before the crack of dawn and sleeps almost as soon as it is dark.5. Aromantic in almost every aspect, which means he lacks romantic attraction to anyone. It may just be because he doesn’t even believe that anyone can feel that way towards him though.

1.) Tell a bit about a main protagonist and a main antagonist? If your story doesn’t really have “good guys and bad guys”, tell about two characters with opposing viewpoints!

Most of my characters have gray moralities, and the ones that don’t are spoilers. This is a hard one.

This is a good question for AS’s Dark AU, but idk I don’t think that’s interesting enough. Plus Piers’ dark self is bland when you get down to it.

Ehh fuck it let’s do Icarus (mnemoir character) and Aeris (backup mnemoir character) because let’s get real who’s going to see this.

Icarus’ perspective on life in general is bleak at best. He’s bottom of the food chain material, grew up in a less that great environment, and proceeded to not know what to do with his life the moment he left. So he essentially joined his society’s version of the army. He has too many insecurities to really list at once, and his attitude towards the world is filled with hostility and pessimism, because nothing has ever gotten much better for him his entire life, and nothing ever will. (All considered, Icarus has other reasons for joining the ranks of the mercenaries aside from throwing his life away. Probably.)

On the other hand, Aeris is a girl who grew up with studious parents, but was raised in relative comfort. She wanted something? She would work to get there, but it was very easily attainable. Her upbringing wasn’t a struggle of survival. She had room to grow and dream. Aeris is a girl of fantasies, dreaming of fame and glamor and how amazing she WILL be one day. She has no doubt in her mind that with absolute optimism, she will be a shining, extravagent star of her fantasies one day.

Compared with Icarus’ grounded view of reality, their way of viewing the world as a whole contrasts greatly.
