ADMITTEDLY, LEON HAD BEEN RIGHT when he implied Makoto wouldn’t be the type to ditch class just for a nap— at least, he tries to be a good student, but then again...the garden does seem like a nice place to rest.
And when Leon is the one who asks him to join, he finds himself compelled to agree right away. It’s another chance to spend time together! Entering the garden, Makoto can’t quite place the feeling, as if with every single glance or sway of his hand just a little too close, something flips inside his chest. Not wanting to RUIN this, though, Makoto tries his best to ignore it, instead giving a smile. “You know, this really is the perfect place to rest for a little while. They must have to keep it pretty warm, except I guess that can make you a little dizzy, too.” Except unknown to Makoto, it isn’t the HUMIDITY that’s makes him more lightheaded than usual.
Anything else he might have planned on mentioning is thrown RIGHT OUT the window, though.
Before he can even process it, Leon’s is holding the side of his face and he finds himself PULLED closer, instinctively tilting his head up as they meet in a sudden kiss. For a moment, everything SHUTS DOWN, void of thought aside from the way his heart begins to pound a mile a minute and the impulse to rest his own hands against Leon’s waist, shocked, yet kissing back even with absolutely no clue what he might be doing. And then, the floodgates open, and it all CLICKS into place. The nerves, inexplicable times where he went red in the face, the pull to spend as much time with him as he can...it all makes sense now.
When Leon pulls away, Makoto is wide-eyed, FLUSHED, processing the sudden realization as quick as he can, but again, impulse kicks in when he notes Leon’s panic. “N-no! No, don’t, I-” Own words begin to fail him— how can he figure out how to admit this when he only just became aware?! “I don’t want to! Pretend, I mean, it was...it was nice. Don’t go, I...that means you...likeme, right? ‘Cause I think I just realized something I should have awhile ago-”
