he knows this place. he doesn’t have to see it to know exactly where he is, and with that knowledge comes the sensation of suffocating. however he got here doesn’t matter, he just wants out.

disoriented, he feels around for his cane, searching the floor until he has the rod in his grasp. he uses it to navigate his way out of the room, but once he’s in the hall, he can’t shake the feeling of the walls closing in on him enough to move as slowly as he does with his legs. Grey smoke envelopes his lower half and he starts down the hall like a whirlwind, carefully avoiding any signs of life.

however, it’s hard to pick up on an aura and scent so close to his own until it’s too late, and he senses the other man freeze in place, likely at the sight of the wraith. panic shoots through his veins as his mind reels to make sense of the man just several feet from him.

❝ you ... ❞ no, this can’t be. it’s not a dream, yet he’s back at headquarters, sightless eyes upon what seems to be... him, in some form. that, or a close relative he never knew he had. the smoke around him dissipates, leaving him to lean upon his cane. ❝ who are you? ❞
