What I ship when I ship (Frozen)
First of all, I want to say my blog is free of hate. I don’t like ship wars in any fandom. Been there, done that. I learned by experience that ship wars are harmful to the fandom and for the people. As long as you’re respectful of what others like and ship, you can ship and like whatever you want.
I’ve been reading really awful things from the fandom regarding hate toward people because they ship certain pairings or they write fics about those pairings. And it’s sad because people leave the fandom, stop writing and stop enjoying what they love.
Almost four years ago, when I made my first steps in this fandom, I was focused on kristanna because it’s canon. Back then, I was pretty close-minded regarding pairings in any fandom. With time I realized that being so canonical was depriving me of fun. Looking at the fics I started writing back then (a couple published and the rest I've resumed writing them), I realized that I always ship frohana. I don’t like the idea of leaving Elsa behind or out just for the sake of the kristanna pairing. So, I always include her and she tends to be the focus of my stories. Then, I ship kristelsa. In the canonical sense, I ship them as icebross or best friends. I know when Elsa gains more confidence with Kristoff, they’ll share a great friendship. When I ship them as a couple, Anna must be out of the picture (mostly because of sad reasons), since I can’t betray her. I’m currently working in two kristelsa fanfics, one more challenging than other. But, I love challenges.
I wasn’t so fond of crossovers until somewhere back in 2014 I started writing a fic pairing Elsa with Loki. I did it just for fun, then life happened and I dropped it as I did with all my fics. When I came back, I resumed my fics and I focused on this one in particular. I already finished it; I’m currently at the editing and polishing stage so I can publish it. It has been a challenge because I wrote it in English. I mean, I had written in English before, but not something long (10k words) and never smut. I love this pairing, and some people asked me “why?” and I say “why not?”. I know that it’s never going to be canon because it’s a crossover, but it gives me a lot of freedom to explore these characters. My headcanon is Elsa being bisexual, pairing her with someone as Loki who is gender fluid and shapeshifter, gives me a lot of material to play. And above all, this pairing makes me happy.
Now, I’m shipping elsanna. It was a big no to me four years ago, because the incest is/was not my cup of tea. I ship them mostly as snow sisters, but one day around two months ago, curiosity killed me. I decided to give a chance to rk9 Elsa is suffering. It was a one-way ticket. I discovered that I like elsanna stories as long the incest theme is approached seriously and as a source of conflict. I don’t buy stories like “yay, we’re sisters, yay let’s go fuck each other”. Things don’t work like that (at least not for me), so I expect to read characters’ conflict, angst, and development of the said conflict. Back in 2014, my now ex-girlfriend predicted that it was a matter of time of me shipping elsanna and writing a fic with this pairing. Well, she was right (my muse is whispering me some random ideas).
Hanna is a big no to me, actually, Hans is a big no to me. I only want to see him burning in hell. But I respect people who love him and ship him with other characters. And helsa...I enjoy helsa but not in a romantic way. The helsa I read is the one people who actually hate Hans would read it. It implies a dark!Elsa or a dom!Elsa punishing Hans. Sometimes Hans is just a toy or a sexual slave, sometimes he is a prisoner who becomes the queen’s lover but not in a romantic way. Sometimes Elsa just enjoys torture him. Yes, these stories are full of sick situations and abuse. Please, don’t judge me.
And lastly, depending on my mood I ship kristelsanna as a polyamorous relationship. Because, why the hell not?
So, those are my ships in the Frozen universe (for now).
