            ‘ isn’t everyone unique ?  ’  in their own little ways .  rei remembers telling this to her children ,  that everyone is special ,  even in the quirk - filled world they live in .   his comment leaves her confused , but it barely shows in her expression . tired eyes stare at the other as she ponders what to say ;  is he trying to call her unique ? after all ,  she is alone ,  but she isn’t interested in the mind games that she suspects he wants to play .   ‘ if that’s what you think ,  then you must be a very lonely man . .  ’

      “  i am not .  “  after all ,  the voices in his head would never leave him truly alone ,  but at this point in time ,  ankoku would ignore the ghosts from his past more often than not .  they were just reminders to him ,  of what he has yet to completely achieve .  “  you can think like so ,  but that would be like still believing a childhood dream .  “  many stood out ,  others did not .  that’s just how life was .  & even inside the hospital ,  the woman in front of him caught his attention .  the reasons are many ,  the older of the two can not deny it ,  but would he ever admit which ones they were ?

“... why?”  it’s honestly a miracle that he’s even standing, he can feel himself becoming the little boy that would break so easily right in front of her. he doesn’t hate how weak he makes her feel

“i don’t know.” he feels his face ripping apart, eyes dripping slowly with blood he would’ve cried, he should cry

but he can’t. all because of him.

it’s ripping him apart, and the boy he was, her boy finally gets out of his cage and throws himself at her, holding her desperately, but he feels dirty. she shouldn’t be touching him.

for some very weird reason, these words just hit the 10 years old in front of her like a truck. he’s always putting this happy face, always stood up no matter what he had to do. 

but when it’s his mom, of course she sees right through her boy doesn’t she ? 

so he breathes slowly, trying to stop himself from crying “am fine, mama i promise i-i-i’m okay” 

but the tears falling down betrays his own words, he rubs his eyes, saying something along the lines of he doesn’t know what’s going on, why he’s crying. that he’s okay and she doesn’t need to worry.

until he lets himself go, just like he does with Natsu he let’s himself go right into her arms. sobbing every single tears his small, weak body can handle.
