It was 7:00AM and I was on my way to feed the horses when I heard gunshots in the distance. Deer season is over. It was barely light out and too early for target practice. Then, another — CRACK! —, closer this time. What the hell was going on?
And then I understood. It wasn’t rifle shots cracking in the crisp morning air. It was trees and large tree branches snapping in half. We were supposed to…
So I know basically no one’s gonna read this but I wanted to express how great everyone made my day today :D
It's very long.
-from Kaveh’s text at 12am exactly right down to my mother who made me a lovely marble cake :)
(this is all gonna be very long and stuff so sorry for spamming your dash I’ll make it a private post later on. And tagged several people so hopefully you’ll see my thankyous. Edit: Finished, and this feels like a freaking Oscars speech but guess what. I don’t care.)
I’m so glad my last birthday of high school was my 18th, and was on a school day, the last time that happened (the birthday part, not the 18 part obviously) was 2007 I think and it was so nice being around people - I love our grade so much. And yeah just general awesomeness throughout the day like: (in chronological order)
> Three awesome guys who texted me between 12 and 1am lol thanks Kaveh (no I wasn’t asleep), Alex (stop calling me jessiepoo that ain’t cool) and Davy (I WAS DEFINITELY as happy as the sun wearing sunglasses in picture books!)
> Three lovely ladies who texted me at normal times during the day – Carol (you’re the old lady in this friendship :P), Belle (yay normal message) and Crystal (yep twas a ‘spiffing’, as you put it, day)– your messages made be super happy and I love you guys :)
Edit: And Vaids later, thanks again! I miss talking to you, we must catch up soon
> Being Bea’s birthday buddy! I dunno if you’ll see this but I’ve always enjoyed sharing the day with you ever since that day many years ago (year 7?) we found out we had the same birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope you had an epic day too.
> Renee adding “birthday” to basically everything I did? Thank you, that was a nice touch haha. Like “birthday bus ride”, “birthday walk to school”, making you into a “birthday sandwich” in legal cause you sit between Bea and I. you’re such a cool & quirky person.
> Vaids announcing our birthdays in front of the whole school at assembly wat I was not expecting that and uhm happy 18th birthday to Arjun… and Ms Pigrim too lol
> Subsequent birthday wishing by like 50-100 people+? I’m amazed by the kindness in our grade. And inventive wishing like The Abrupt Kaveh Bear Hug and the JM Birthday Punch and countless others eheh I felt so loved sorry if this sounds stupid, stupid stuff makes me happy kay.
> PDH, English Extension 1, Legal, Maths and French teachers (i.e. all of them for today). For giving us absolutely no work today- that was great. I haven’t done this little work since idk 2010 or something in school and even though we have trials in 2 weeks WHO CARES.
> DEFROST. Nothing I say will even do you guys justice. You’ve been the best group ever since I banded with you in Year 7 and I love spending time with all of you. The Tiramisu cake was DELICIOUS I don’t even like cake icing normally but but it was so yummyy. I did not notice your ninja setting up of this event. And the card you made was awesome! It’s so big lol but I love it, and all your messages were incredibly happifying - Carol, ma meilleure amie forever and even Arabi’s incorrect French translation of “you are an adult” à “you have an adult” heheh. And Jarita! Thanks for my 16th bday present it was the best. (Backstory she made a present for me, brought it on my 16th, took it back home to finish, and gave it back to be today. It was beautiful :) )
> Delivering cake to them other cool friends. Idk it made me happy too. (Davy, please tell me you didn’t go high on the coffee in it…) And it was nice talking to all of you inc. Lozball, Cissy, Danashi, Emily & Maddy. Hope you guys enjoyed the cake and hope Lauren & Maddy had awesome 18ths in the holidayss :) And finding Alex & Kaveh in one go and them being all alpha-male-give-me-the-cake and i-texted-jess-first-therefore-I’m-better-than-you which continued on the bus ride back home. Your.. bantering? makes me happy.
> Despite the potentially depressing test-receiving, thanks to maths test markers, for allowing me to accomplish my goal of over 90 for Advanced and over 70 for Extension 1 hooray #lamejess
> Thanks Ms Bishop, for not failing me in French speaking. Not that she even knew but you know it still made my day good.
> It was nice talking to Nive on the walk down to the bus bay! It’s been a while and I will forever remember our weird dancing of 2010 and prior -and I had something else to say but I have forgotten.
> The bus ride home is always nice and we had some interesting conversations about the gay zone and dragons and middle names and omega females and boys’ immature codes for people which made my tongue slip to be the cause of much amusement but hey let’s not talk about that. And unless you sat anywhere near me, all that will have been taken out of context so ignore it. And the train ride was surprisingly very empty – just Alex & I but it was a nice, relaxing end to the day.
> Homehomehome and the cat which does not belong to us slept on my bed for a while and she’s very cute and I think her name’s Samantha but I call her Skittles (Cat -> Kitty -> Kittle/Skittles idk) and the name caught on. And she was very agreeable today, how nice. Thanks Skittles.
> Mum’s Aunt called, thankyou for the message and can’t wait to see you two this weekend! (they’re coming from Perth)
> Text from my mum’s boss to me. Yep, I’m in trouble. Just kidding, one of my mum’s colleagues had a birthday today as well and I made her an ice cream cake cause she’s cool- Connoisseur chocolate ice cream, Neapolitan ice cream, raspberries, strawberries and Flake chocolates. Apparently it was a big hit over there yay, I’m glad she had a good birthday today.
> Family dinner at The Ranch thankyou mum & dad the food was very nice and conversation is always interesting yep.
> Going back home and of course the cousins gave the regular call – my brother was eavesdropping btw. Not that there was anything secretive but yes thanksh. Haven’t talked on a mobile in a while. Note: it seems all the landline phone and internet connections on our street aren’t working. So if you’re seeing this, I successfully converted my mobile into a wi-fi hotspot and posted this quickly.
> Back at home and mum made me a pretty marble cake and it was nice but man two cakes in one day is so much and I was already so full but I shall enjoy it again sometime aka tomorrow.
And here I am, typing this now. The day’s almost over and it was *in case you didn’t catch it already* pretty amazing, even though it was the first day of the new term of school. In fact, I think that’s the main reason. Whatever, people are great.
icedtrees replied to your post: Can’t believe we’ve been at school for less than a...
you should document that in your extension 2 logbook! you can talk about how inspiring death note was.
[come tomorrow and make our class less lonely]
yeah i did write about it in my journal but i didn't specifically mention death note. i should have :/ could have talked about all the awesomeness. (and thus had more pages, obviously)
also did you know shōnen jump advanced manga was designed for "young adult males"? did not know that till after i finished reading it. psh.
