Secrets

Yuuri had been gone all week on a business trip the accountancy company he worked for had sent him on. Because of Yuuri’s knowledge of the Japanese language he’d been chosen as their representative to send to Japan. Victor couldn’t have been prouder of his mate, he knew the promotion meant a lot to him and this trip was important but that didn’t mean he didn’t miss the Alpha dearly while he was overseas. It certainly made his job easier, Victor was officially employed as a travel agent and he worked in a large office building but it was all a front, inside was a highly guarded secret. No matter how much he loved his mate he could never tell him he work for Russia as a highly classified spy based here in America’s Washington city to carry out his missions. Yuuri had been an unplanned circumstance, he’d fallen in love with the seemingly mundane Alpha in a coffee shop, he was normal and it had been so refreshing to Victor. Mila, Yurio and a few others he worked with inside the agency often made fun of him for falling in love with such a dorkish looking man but Victor loved his glasses and the bed hair, he wouldn’t trade it for anything but Yuuri could never find out. Because of his profession he had to wear scent blockers to mask his Omega scent, it could be the difference between life or death to be detected by scent. It was late, the day had been spent collecting intel on a highly regarded politician here in America, their newest target that Victor was due to take out in just a day from now. He was at home waiting for his husband to return, his flight should have landed an hour ago and so Victor was expecting him soon. He was ready for his fresh dose of ordinary married life along with its ruts, lack of sex life and arguments but tonight he hoped his Alpha would ravish him.  He heard the front door and the tell tale slip of a key inside the lock and smiled. “Is that you my love~?” He called out from the lounge room and stood up ready to greet him. He imagined Yuuri would be exhausted and he was eager to play his role of the doting housewife.

Engaged

It was a two page spread interview, Victor’s publicist had organised the entire thing, it had gone perfectly and just as they had planned the entire skating community fangirls and professionals alike were abuzz with the new gossip that Victor Nikiforov was in a relationship with someone. Who, was the question that everyone was asking. It all began as an off hand comment to an overly eager fan that had only stopped trying to physically drape themselves over him when he’d dropped the ‘I have a lover already’ bomb. It had gotten big, someone had taken it to a forum on the internet, from there it blew up on twitter with the hashtag #WhoisitVictor. It had been so effective in fact that Victor had been keeping it up for almost a year now but rumours that Victor wasn’t being truthful were now popping up more and more often. People were starting to doubt the truths to his claims and Victor wasn’t sure what to do. He had been so tired of people throwing themselves at him this past year had been a relief.  He was nearing the end of his rope, trying everything to keep this clumsy lie together and there were many who did believe him but more and more people were turning against him when this phantom lover never showed up. Drastically, tired of the constant bad media he was getting in the last few weeks he turned up at the next competition with a golden band on his wedding finger. It had the desired effect. The skating community was in uproar again when Victor confirmed he was engaged.  It lasted only a few days, he miscalculated, people were now even more hungry for answers and Victor realised he was in too far now, he couldn’t turn back. He was speaking with his publicist over the phone all afternoon as they tried to fix things, the thought of hiring someone was thrown around and it left a strange taste in Victors mouth but at this point he didn’t have much of a choice any longer. A bad situation gets worse as the media twists his latest interview into an obscure admittance to dating, or rather being engaged to, another skater. He threw his remote angrily and Makkachin flinched where he was laying over his master on the couch, the tv program keeps going but at least the interview is over. Victors hand pushed his fringe back as he attempted to calm himself down by breathing deeply. He didn’t usually let his frustration get to him like this. It was later that evening that a miracle occurs. His phone starts to blow up, the only other person besides his publicist and Yakov that knew about the truth was Christophe and he sends him the link first. It’s a Japanese skater, Katsuki Yuuri, skating his program and to any fangirl on the internet it looks like a lover crying out. It was a god send, perfectly packaged and wrapped in a bow just for him. He scrolled through the comments on the recently uploaded video, it was clear that the rumours were already abound. Victor wondered if this man had done this intentionally and he frowned as he watched it play through yet again. There was passion in his skating, he moved without any music playing yet Victor could see the notes and the story played right in front of him. He organised a meeting with this man immediately, intending to pay any expense to get him over here to Russia as soon as possible but first he got a hold of his number after going through the most discreetest channels. He rings him, intending to offer the man whatever he could want. “Hello, is this Yuuri I’m speaking with~?” He cooed into the phone.
