Episode 7 of Sonic X has GOT to be one of the worst episodes for 2 reasons.
Lindsey and Cream.
Let's start off with Mrs. Absentia who nearly poisoned her son with burnt food and then abandoned him after she decided to throw a little party for him for another job opportunity.
Like ma'am, TURN. THE. OFFER. DOWN. I don’t care if it’s the “opportunity of a lifetime.” Your child has been home alone with a literal butler and maid as well as an emotionally absent father. The least you can do is be there long enough to, I dunno, have a family dinner that doesn’t involve Sonic crash-landing through the ceiling!
It’s wild how people dunk on Chris for being clingy, but no one ever talks about why he’s like that. His mom jet-sets around the world, his dad works 25/8, 379. Lindsey’s decision in Episode 7 was basically the emotional equivalent of saying “yeah, I love you honey… but I love my career a bit more.”
And then there's Cream... I love her to bits—she’s adorable, polite, sweet as custard—but in Episode 7? Nah. She fumbled the moral compass HARD. Like, girl, you were the one who snuck out, disobeyed, and literally caused the chaos, and yet somehow you have the audacity to turn around and scream “I HATE YOU!” at the one kid trying to protect you??
I can't really be mad at Cream though, she’s from a world where her mom’s always there, kind and gentle and present. She can’t even fathom what it’s like to have a parent who chooses work over you. So she projects her own worldview onto Chris, thinking she’s helping when she’s actually twisting the knife a bit.
But nooo, the fandom was like, “Even Cream hates Chris 😡😡😡.” LIKE NO. She’s a literal child who misunderstood a situation way too deep for her to grasp. She said something hurtful, realized it later, and the show quietly brushes it off—because even she knew she overreacted.
She’s a child. He’s a child. Both were sad, scared, and stressed.
Yet we're still gonna use Chris as a scapegoat because "He's rich and a whiny brat." Like are we deadass✌️
Anyways yeah, Episode 7 of Sonic X is ASS. Genuinely one of the worst episodes of Sonic X.
