sigh and this is why loki/charles is the best and the worst tbh because loki offers charles EVERYTHING and ANYTHING and it's not out of charity or like, goodwill - he just delights in seeing a good man weaken, and seeing a good man reach out for something he knows he oughtn't want to touch. and loki loves to be CRAVED and charles just wants to be *wanted*, and loki can offer that, loki can give him attention all day long, whisper in his ears, tell him he loves him AND IT'S SO TOXIC I LOVE IT

Does that not HURT? The *injustice* of it? The lack of gratitude?"

Charles stares at the trickster, words failing him. He shouldn't trust the word of such a creature- but Loki is... eerily accurate intheir  assumptions. Have they looked into Charles' mind, or are they simply more...perceptive, than most? Do they know how it feels, to be as Charles has been his whole life - silent and aching,searching for someone that understands?

He tries to laugh it off, and the sound trembles.
