Talk to Idaho's Candidates About Animal Welfare
As we continue our work on the front lines of animal rescue here in Idaho, one thing has become very clear: meaningful, lasting change must also happen at the legislative level.
We encourage our supporters to reach out directly to candidates running for Governor, state legislature, county offices, and even local city government positions. Ask them where they stand on animal welfare. Ask what changes they would support, what improvements they believe are needed, and what they would initiate if elected.
Local leadership matters just as much as state leadership. City councils, county commissioners, prosecutors, and sheriffs all play a role in how animal welfare laws are enforced and prioritized.
Idaho consistently ranks near the bottom nationwide in animal welfare protections. We already know that some leaders in our state have not prioritized the best interests of animals. It is time for change.
This is not about political parties. It is about accountability, transparency, and ensuring that Idaho moves forward with stronger protections and responsible oversight.
Our elected officials work for the people. They should be willing to answer direct questions about their positions and their plans.
Your voice matters. Reach out. Ask the hard questions. Start the conversations. And let candidates know that animal welfare is an issue Idaho voters care about.
If you receive responses, feel free to share them with us so we can keep the conversation going.
