2, 4, 35, 41 (the Seattle Central Library building is so beautiful!), 42 for the book ask!
2: What are you currently reading?
I just finished All We Shall Know by Donal Ryan last night (had some beautiful moments, but overall felt kind of meh about it), and this morning I started The Lullaby of Polish Girls by Dagmara Dominczyk. I’m on a Polish/immigrant kick because I working on a production of Ironbound next spring, and I’m thrilled!
4: What was the last book you added to your tbr?
Goodreads: Zazen by Vanessa Veselka SPL: The Woman From Hamburg and Other True Stories by Hanna KrallIn my head: The Nance by Douglas Carter Beane
35: Name a book you consider to be terribly underrated
Hm. I don’t think A Girl is a Half-Formed Thing by Eimear McBride is very well-known in the states, and the language is revolutionary.
41: Do you own a library card? How often do you use it?
I do! I use it constantly. I’m probably at the library at least every other week. And yes, the Seattle Central Library is insanely beautiful - I’m so glad it’s my closest branch.
42: Which was the best book you had to read in school?
I had a fondness for The Foundation Pit by Andrei Platonov which I read twice for different courses. It’s a semi-satirical look at the Soviet Union, and though lugubrious, the language is beautiful.
