My Ideal Job
My current job as a teacher is just that. A job. I have moments of joy from time to time, but over all, I am just as miserable walking through the doors of my school in the morning as I am walking out. I loath the behaviors I‘ll have to deal with from both staff and students as well as the fact that I am expected to perform in a hostile environment.
This miserable feeling is what has fueled me on this quest of self discovery. So that I may leave the teaching profession for one that fits my individual needs professionally and emotionally. It is never too late to start and the sooner I get started, the sooner I’ll be able to leave my job from hell for my dream job.
In thinking about my ideal job, there are so many things to consider. For example, how much money do I want to make? Who would I like to work with? Is my ideal job a practical, sensible, or even possible? Will I need to go back to school for a second degree? Or might I just need a certificate along with some new training?
So many unanswered things but the least I can do is list features of my ideal job if not go into complete detail about it.
My ideal job would all me to:
make at least 80k or more
work with women in children from developing African nations; helping them to become self-sufficient and independent through education and the creation and implementation of programs that become self-sustaining
travel around the world and spend time experiencing the cultures I work to help
use my knowledge of other languages and allow me the opportunity to improve upon them and become fluent if not already
have time for my family
have time to go on vacation and enjoy new places without worrying about money
