My coworker stood next to me and reached for a wine glass and he was wearing your deodorant/aftershave/cologne. And I was right back there in your arms. I knew I didn’t have any grief left for you but it turns out I still have oceans of it for me.

The only reason I know yesterday was your birthday is because I follow your wife on Instagram. It felt good.
You are a home unto yourself.

I didn't see you for 7 months. And then you looked into my eyes. You laughed at my jokes. You unexpectedly bought me drinks. You hugged me hello and goodbye. And you looked like a person I knew once. You looked like a person I have all this history with. It was there but it didn't come crashing down. You looked like a figure from the past. And it was okay.
Why couldn't you have asked me to dance? One last time?
