i hope the software engineering life has been treating you well, have you been into any big projects recently ?

It has! My work is very stimulating and is doing a lot of GPU based Vulkan stuff(mostly disciplining in runtime graphics programming and HPC) and at home I do a lot of personal projects, juggling maybe 5 or 6 right now with a mix of disciplines.

My latest project as been building up my Vulkan + Adobe After Effects framework and accelerating it beyond belief in such a way that empowers more and more people to be able to do more things in Adobe After Effects. Including people with integrated processors and “older” processors.

My most-most latest entry in that space is updating PixMap into a new GPU-Accelerated plugin using Vulkan called B.Map while also making it as a testing ground for making things obscenely fast and compatible across all hardware.

The latest big step is coming up with a technique where I directly import After Effect’s specially formatted pixel data directly to the GPU without having to do redundant copies, allowing for a much more faster and more consistant-time memory upload that has allowed me to get HUGE memory and speed gains!(Blue = regular method, orange = new)

And part of this involved talking with some fellas at Intel to point out an issue with their driver that causes memory alignment issues and blah blah blah, basically getting some people on the Intel driver team for windows to tweak their driver a bit to allow some huge speedups gains to happen that will be in the next upcoming driver release!

In other news, I’m writing up a post on my blog about using carryless multiplication to do some cool bit-tricks like prefix-xor and bit-interleaving and doing some work on very fast morton code/bit-interleaving using AVX512 tricks.

And that’s pretty much whats on my plate at the moment! Been trying to fill my server with some GPUs to try and do some multi-GPU research in the future!

14) I did! I went with my best friend @amumusama! It was fun, there were chocolate fountains, and everyone pooled money together for a limo, so it was a great night!!

16) I guess it depends on how u define a celebrity? I’ve met several famous opera singers before, and they’re all pretty chill/cool. Aside from those... I met a pretty popular elevator-music singer/songwriter while he visited campus to give a concert because the choir was providing backup-singing, and he was very pompous and gave, like, almost insulting advice to us, and spoke as if we were five-year-olds. “Who can tell me what kind of themes Taylor Swift’s song-writing follows?” Like... the school has a world-renown music program?? I was there like pepeLaugh he doesn’t know... lol.

21) >.> ok here’s the thing... lol. I like Nike a lot, like they’re cool and they got dope shoes, but I normally wear Adidas clothes because they fit my aesthetic. (im wearing an Adidas shirt rn lmao...) I actually wear New Balance for tennis shoes tho (wide feet problems :/ lol)

23) I’ve never been outside of the U.S., sadly. I want to travel to Japan someday though!! It’s been my dream since childhood and it’s still a dream of mine today! I also wanna go to Paris and all over Europe now, as well.

28) Uhm... Yes. I despise Donald Trump lmao. I can’t think of anyone else off the top of my head, but in general, that’s because I don’t usually experience hatred. I’m very empathetic and optimistic, so I tend towards finding the good in people rather than the bad, even if they may “rub me the wrong way,” so to speak. Even with unbridled hatred, though, I recognize people like Trump are, unfortunately, the extreme sides of humanity. I could wax philosophical on this kinda topic but I will spare y’all lol.
