Oh My...
So I’ve finally made the decision to go for my NCIDQ Certification so that I can become an official Interior Designer.
The NCIDQs are broken up into three parts...IDFX, IDPX, and the Practicum.
You can take the IDFK (Interior Design Fundamentals Exam) straight out of college as long as you went to a CIDA accredited school, which I did....and I’ve been out of school for a year now...so I think it’s time to stop being a baby and get on it!
Anyway...these are extremely difficult tests, so there is a lot of study material to help you to prepare. They have official study guides and study quizzes/tests to help you too. So I went ahead and bought a $300 dollar package of study help for the IDFX and IDPX. It gives me lifetime access to these study tips and quizzes and such. THEN I bought $336 dollars in books to help me study...
Okay...we’re at >$600 dollars right now...right? WELL!!!! For some reason these jerks at the NCIDQ Headquarters are like “Let’s charge these poor souls an arm and a leg just to TAKE the test!” So it’s a $110 dollar fee to register and apply to take the test...then it’s a $238 dollar fee to schedule a time to take the test...$348 just to take the FIRST test...the IDFX. It’s the same again to take the IDPX, then like TWICE that to take the practicum, which is everyone’s nightmare.
Anywho...all in all I am going to need lots of support and encouragement on this journey. I’m scared...:$
